The Jacob dress Hack Kit includes step-by-step tutorials to help you reimagine the pattern and explore new silhouettes—all without starting from scratch. Turn one pattern into more than 7 unique pieces. Whether you love the playful volume, the adjustable details, or the overall aesthetic of the Jacob dress, this Hack Kit will show you how to carry those elements into effortlessly wearable separates. But, of course, you’re only limited by your imagination! Use one tutorial on its own, or combine elements from a few for a complete pattern overhaul. As with all of our resources, you can apply the knowledge to any pattern of similar styles you may already have in your stash.

These tutorials have been created so you can use them over and over and adapt them to any project you like.
All the hacks are supported by a range of tutorials that cover all the basics of drafting your own patterns. This includes everything you need to know about tracing patterns, marking notches, adding seam allowances, and checking and truing patterns and darts.
Skills library
One of the challenges of pattern hacking is that you no longer have instructions for how to make the garment. We've solved this problem by including a range of resources in a Construction document to help you work out things like the best order of construction and fabric yardage. We’ve also included a deep dive into some specific sewing techniques that you may need for sewing your hacked separates.
Mighty Networks group
We will be working on everything together in our Mighty Networks community group. This means that you will be able to ask questions, share your makes and connect with other makers who are also on a mission to learn new skills and sew clothing in a slow and conscious way.
