What Curated by In the Folds is all about

With our monthly subscription, we’ve selected patterns and pieces that contribute to your wardrobe, rather than overwhelm it. Projects are carefully selected each month to teach you new skills in a digestible way. One month you may receive a PDF pattern with fitting advice, while in the next you will be able to take the pattern that fits you like a dream and find new ways to hack it so you can create a range of different garments. We know that many of you are curious to learn how patterns are made, so this is a way to get you started and learn the skills to start customising your wardrobe. See our past projects here.

The right subscription for you depends on what you would like access to each month. If our free content is enough content for you each month, but you would like to join our online community, take a look at our Supporter plan. Ready for a new project each month? Our Skill Builder offering starts from $15 a month, or you can even buy one and give one with our Skill Sharer plan.

Sewing a handmade wardrobe you are proud of is about learning the skills and building on them over time. That’s what Curated by ITF is all about.

We are excited for you to join us.

  • The same level of thought and detail that you have come to expect from all In the Folds patterns.
  • Professionally drafted womenswear patterns with thoughtful and surprising details that will have you making garments that look as beautiful on the inside as they do on the outside.

  • Patterns aimed at advanced beginners and intermediate makers looking to level up your sewing and patternmaking skills.
  • Patterns focused on longevity. Build a pattern and resource library that you can come back to for years to come.

Who is behind Curated by ITF?

Emily is the founder of In the Folds and a life-long sewist. She studied fashion design in Sydney, honing her patternmaking and construction skills over 4 years. Soon after, she embraced the home sewing space where she could support people to make clothes for themselves. And so, In the Folds was born.

It is Emily's belief that if garments are made well and fit well, we take better care of them. It gives her great joy to create patterns and resources that sewists use to make beautiful garments that they love.

Originally from London, Alys has many years of experience as a patternmaker within the fashion industry and a BA in Fashion Design. Moving to Sydney she founded UNPICKED studio where she teaches pattern making, sewing and upcycling.

Alys shares Emily’s belief of cherishing the process of making as well as slow and thoughtful consumption. She loves working in the studio with Emily as they delve deep into pattern making, fitting and sewing technicalities and enjoy geeking out to find creative solutions for sewists of all levels.
