Get everything you need to make yourself a gorgeous new dress!

I get a lot of questions from sewists about choosing the correct fabric for the pattern, and with these new project kits, you can leave the guesswork to me. Each pattern has been paired with a fabric that matches beautifully and really highlights the details of the pattern.

In the Folds patterns encourage makers to use sewing as an opportunity to make clothing that will be worn, loved and cherished so that we can minimise the impact our clothing choices have on the environment. Due to this, all fabrics have been sourced from designer deadstock (the fabric has been leftover from a designer’s collection) and notions and thread where possible. There are a limited number of kits available due to this and once they are sold out, this particular fabric and pattern combination will not be available again.

Kit details

In the case of the Rushcutter dress, I chose this light and breezy cotton chambray that will work beautifully, due to it's drape and handle.

Kit includes:

  • The Rushcutter dress paper pattern
  • Yardage of cotton chambray (yardage based on View B and is enough to make any size included in the pattern)
  • Pre-cut bias binding for the neckline
  • 1 spool of Rasant thread to match
  • 3 coordinating buttons for back closure
  • Strip of iron-on interfacing for back closure

Difficulty

The pattern is placed at a Level 2 on the In the Folds pattern skill scale.

By working through this pattern, you will gain confidence in: sewing a straight seam, sewing a curved seam, bias facing armholes / neckline, sewing buttonholes, buttons and an invisible zip (depending on which view you decide to make).

Sizing

The pattern is available in 10 sizes (A - J, which equates to Australian sizes 6-24) and is nested, to make it easier for you to grade between sizes.

In the Folds patterns are drafted for a B cup bust. Please check the finished garment measurements chart in the pattern, before deciding whether or not you need to make an adjustment.

Patterns are drafted for height of 170cm (5'7") and include a ‘lengthen / shorten line’ so you can make adjustments to suit your height.

Fabric requirements and finished garment measurements can be found here.

Pattern includes seam allowances.
