But its luxuriously detailed finishes will make you feel ‘put together’ enough for that unexpected knock on the door and work-from-home Zoom meetings. We've included 4 different views - so take your pick to create the perfect loungewear set for you!
Intentionally designed for business AND pleasure. (And everything in between.)
Garment Details
Featuring beautiful seam finishes and designed for fabrics with a softer drape, the Gibson Loungewear pattern infuses luxurious beauty into garments that often focus solely on comfort.
Timeless features include a trapeze silhouette, gathered neckline, button placket or split opening and a choice of elasticated or flutter sleeves, shorts or pants. For a bit of fun, mix and match tops and bottoms in a variety of complimentary fabrics, or just make the pieces that will fit best into your wardrobe and lifestyle.
Keen to give a handmade gift? Gibson’s loose-fitting style makes it the perfect garment to make for a friend or loved one as it doesn’t require fitting.

Suggested Fabrics
The Gibson loungewear set is compatible with light to mid-weight fabrics with a good amount of drape such as: linen, linen blends, cotton, gauze or chambray.
For a softer silhouette, consider: sateen, silk (crepe de chine or habotai) or viscose (rayon). Be careful if you are a beginner though, as these fabrics are a little trickier to sew.
Fabrics that fray a lot can be difficult to work with when sewing French seams. This is something to keep in mind when selecting fabric.
Fabric requirements and finished garment measurements can be found here.
Notions
Amounts differ between size brackets. See notions list for each size bracket here. The pattern is available in both sizes A - J and sizes G - P. Our size charts can be found here.
The Gibson loungewear set is designed to be a very relaxed fit.
For Views A + B, select a size based on your high bust measurement. There is considerable ease in the bust, waist and hip area of the pattern and it is unlikely you will need to grade up if your waist or hip measurements are in a larger size than your bust. We suggest checking the finished garment measurements for your size before choosing to do a Full Bust Adjustment (FBA).
For Views C + D, select a size based on your hip measurement and check the finished waist measurement before deciding to grade between sizes.
The size A-J pattern has been drafted for a B cup bust, while the size G-P pattern has been drafted for a D cup bust.
The pattern has been drafted for a height of 170cm (5'7"). Use the
LENGTHEN / SHORTEN lines on the pattern to make alterations to the length.
Fabric requirements and finished garment measurements can be found here.
Pattern includes seam allowances.
